Media reports on 50 zombie events; 9,077 rosary rallies are ignored

Zombies are featured, but 250,000 Catholics praying on the streets for America’s conversion are “invisible”

Yesterday, Saturday, October 13, we commemorated the anniversary of the Fatima miracle of the sun with 9,077 Public Square Rosary Crusades that were held all across the United States and in 36 foreign countries.

(One of the 9,077 rosary rallies yesterday.  This one in Orange, New Jersey.  If you would like to be a rally captain in 2013, please do your ADAVANCE REGISTRATION HERE)

The purpose of the rallies was to ask God, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to convert America. And how desperately we need it!

As more Americans feel a growing anxiety about the future, and perceive the failure of human solutions, they are turning to God in greater numbers, asking for a heaven sent solution.

This heaven sent solution is the urgent call to conversion that Our Lady of Fatima gave the three shepherd children in 1917: prayer, the Holy Rosary, penance and an amendment of life as a means to prevent the spreading of communism and so many other evils.

Our blind trust in this heaven sent solution for America’s growing problems is the motivation for the members of TFP-America Needs Fatima to put on these rosary rallies. To reach out to our fellow Americans with a message of hope: there is a solution for America’s troubles if only would do what Our Lady of Fatima requested.

And every year the number of rosary rallies is growing: from 2,000 in 2007 to 9,077 in 2012.

But not everyone is listening. The media in general, and not just the liberal media, was “blind” to the 9,077 rosary rallies.

I did a Sunday afternoon online search for reports about the 9,077 public square rosary crusades and what did I find?

Five news stories about two rosary rallies mentioned in the media of any type, liberal or conservative. Actually, there were four stories about one rosary rally in Livonia MI, and one story about the rally in Holyoke, MA.

Now, granted, I am not the greatest expert in researching new reports online. I could have missed one or another news report about the rallies.

But I do have some experience. And I did note that while the 9,077 rosary rallies were mostly “invisible”, I found literally hundreds of news reports about “World Zombie Day,” which is an event that takes place on the 2nd Saturday of October.

In these news articles, I learned that “more than 50 cities participate in World Zombie Day, including New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Chicago and Tokyo.”

And that “Every year, tens of thousands of weekend zombies march, race, pub-crawl…”

I also learned that:

The World Zombie Day is the International Zombie Memorial Day, which takes place every 2nd Saturday of October. It's the perfect day to crawl growling into the office or get in touch with other zombie lovers on one of the worldwide organized Zombie walks...prepare yourself for the Zombocalypse!

The 50 Zombie events were very visible to the news media. But the rosary rallies in 9,077 public locations in America and abroad were invisible.
What does that tell us about the moral state of America and the world?
We see the blatant and growing contrast in two worldwide trends:
- the Zombies who promote despair, the morbid and a consonance with the ghoulish and the Satanic; and,
- the Rosary warriors who promote prayer, penance and the joy and hope of God and the Blessed Mother.
The contrast between the two trends and their worldviews could not be greater.

Rosary Rallies Not in Vain

It was comforting to think of all the rosary rallies that had taken place yesterday. Our 9,077 public square rosary crusades dwarfed the efforts of these wannabe ghouls who try to spread despair and horror by holding walks in public places worldwide.

Judging from the media reports on the Zombie walks, I calculated that the nearly 250,000 Americans who turned to God in the public square probably outnumbered these poor partisans of Satan.

The media did not take note of our efforts, but millions of American passersby did. Above all, God took note. Our actions were written in the Book of Life, which is the only one that really matters.

I was also comforted by the conviction that these prayers were not in vain. Our Lady at Fatima predicted Her triumph over evil in all of its many forms. If we continue to pray, fight for our culture and oppose sin and despair, She will not fail to come to our aid.

Maria Vincit! Maria Regnat! Maria Imperat!
